Office retreat: Antigua
The Nashville Luxury Travel office recently popped on over to Antigua to scope out the best hotels. First of all, the timing couldn’t have been better. We traded the teens for the 80s. Leaving behind the puffy coats and trading them in for some bikini’s. We saw 6 properties in 5 days and I am here to break them down for you one by one! Hopefully making your next trip to the Caribbean an easier decision! Make sure to mention “ANTIGUA BLOG” when reaching out to book any of these resorts for a waived planning fee and an extra welcome amenity on arrival ;)
Blue Waters Resort + Spa
Blue Waters was our first stop. We kicked things off with a stunning beachside dinner - amazing food + live music. We danced under the moon afterwards to their live music in the lobby bar, too. They have suites, apartment styled accommodations, and villas as well - making it a great choice for families wanting to travel together, but still have a chill and relaxing vacation!
Hermitage Bay
This property feels boujee and boho the second you step foot in the lobby. The sign says “Relax, you are here.” It sets the tone. Not only did it have the best food of the entire trip, but if you are looking for a romantic, hip getaway - this is the spot. The beach is pristine, and it has the kind of beach chairs that feel straight out of Restoration Hardware - no plastic in sight… praise. For accommodations you have beachside cottages, pool suites, and then the secluded hill top suites with private plunge pools - a honeymooners dream.
CARLISLE BAY
We popped in to Carlisle Bay Resort for a quick visit one morning and the staff here was fabulous. The kind of people that just make you want to smile. The views from breakfast were stunning, the beach was large, and the kids club was adorable. They have a tennis pro on site too, if you want to level up your game on vacay. Overall a great spot to ignore reality and chill.
Curtain Bluff
This is the spot for people that want to sit on the beach and relax ~some~ of the time — but also can’t sit still on a beach for a week… It has that classic Caribbean feel, super happy and helpful staff, and really fits in the category of barefoot luxury. You have all the time and space to rest and relax, but countless things to do as well. Watersports, tennis, pickleball, spa, gym, I could go on forever. This was definitely a winner winner chicken dinner in my books. I loved the sense of place and didn’t want to leave after our one night here… I will be back!
Jumby Bay
This place goes above and beyond the 5 star experience. It is truly special. Set on a private island you feel a sense of privacy and seclusion from your accommodations. They have countless estates and villas that can fit the whole family (I’m talking grandparents, cousins, nanny’s, security — you name it). It’s definitely the place you’d see the Jonas Brothers on vacay. ;)
They also have the sweetest suites and bungalows perfect for a honeymoon/anniversary/baby moon. Everything you eat or drink is included in the price, and the food… was… extraordinary. If you put one place on your bucket list, let it be this.
That’s all, folks. A quite overview of each property. I truly believe there is a place for everyone here, and I would love to chat with you more over a coffee or phone call about which spot that might be for you! Send me an email!
